Our

Buildings…

Haven

The first building started as a 30 year old abandoned foundation and a vision from God for Bob to build a youth recreational center. In 2017 he began the project. We were blessed by the labor of local volunteers and a youth organization from a neighboring town. The interior was finished using the donation of 100 year old oak fencing that we ripped and repurposed, Haven became a 3 year project and this first building was completed in 2020.

Chords on the Creek

This is our rustic recycled bandshell. If walls could talk, its history would echo the tunes of country gospel played by local musicians from days gone by. We purchased the retired bandshell in November of 2021. We dismantled and moved it to its new home here at Haven where we reassembled and renovated the look of it just a bit. We are bringing new life into these old boards. This bandshell is specifically intended for musicians desiring a remote time of sabbatical while seeking God for rest, renewal, and inspiration.

Creek View

Creek View is our newest structure sided with recycled cedar board and batten. The sheltered porch overlooks the campfire, the bandshell and peaceful presence of Rice Creek as it winds its way across the property. Rice Creek is nestled between two lakes and is also connected to the Yellow River. This space in Creek View will be our gathering/bunkhouse hosting small youth groups and individuals seeking sabbatical.

The Property

Located on Rice Creek with access to the Yellow River system, we offer seasonal outdoor activities at Haven, such as: kayaking, canoeing and fishing. We have two miles of trails for hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and biking, along with sledding hills. We have a volleyball area and a variety of lawn games that are available for use. An outdoor grill is provided on the patio, and a fire pit for evening gatherings around the campfire. There is a prayer walk with seating along the trails for those seeking solitude and time spent in nature connecting with God.
